Inspired by a recent visit to Chatsworth House, where I saw a herd of beautiful fallow deer just as they melted like mist into woodland.

The words are: Fallow Deer: ‘Running deer, ivory limbed and hazel eyed softly spotted, bounding and darting through shadowed birches and sepulchral pines.  Glimpsed on sun drenched forest lawns against ebony stems. Wild and lonely, silent as mist in light coming and light waning.’

It is one of a series of circular works.
