This painting was a labour of love! It celebrates Ashbourne’s famous Royal Shrovetide Football Game. 10% from each sale will go to the Ashbourne Shrovetide committee. It shows almost every aspect of the wonderful and friendly rough and tumble day; from the magnificent Shrovetide Dinner (bottom left) to the hug and the goals. The original is egg tempera painted on real gesso on stretched cotton canvas 2018 107 x 71 cm. It is beautifully framed with a contemporary beech frame with gold edge.
