To the Ash Tree: You line our lanes with grace.  Your black velvet buds in spring: stick.  Your leaves in summer: shade. Your seeds like blades in autumn : spin. Your bark, grey and gentle: smooth.  Your empty twigs warn of die-back. As with dementia we lose your essence, your grandeur, your presence.

I am sad about Ash die-back.
