This is my eye-witness account of the Jubilee River Pageant in 2012. It was a day of cold rainy weather and a warm celebratory atmosphere. I saw it all from the moored boat, the Tattershall Castle. I was invited by the BBC to paint from one of the bridges but I am so glad I didn't - the rain would have washed my egg tempera paint away! The original painting is 107 x 71 cm with a simple black wood frame. It is egg tempera paint on acrylic gesso on stretched herringbone weave natural linen.
